A site of profound national significance, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex is dedicated to Vietnam's revered revolutionary leader, Ho Chi Minh. The central element is the imposing granite mausoleum where the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh lies in state (Note: Strict dress code enforced, and the mausoleum is closed periodically for maintenance, usually in the autumn). Surrounding it are several other important sites within the complex set in vast, well-kept grounds.

Be sure to visit the humble wooden Stilt House where Ho Chi Minh lived and worked, offering a fascinating glimpse into his simple lifestyle. Nearby is the bright yellow Presidential Palace (viewable from the outside) and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, which documents his life and Vietnam's revolutionary struggle. The complex also includes the serene One Pillar Pagoda, an iconic lotus-shaped temple dating back to the 11th century. Allow ample time to explore this historically rich area.
