Renting thin plastic sleds from local vendors to slide down the sandy slopes is a popular pastime for visitors of all ages. The dunes provide excellent vantage points to watch the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky and the reddish sand in warm, dramatic colours – making it a favourite spot for sunset photography.

Due to their easy accessibility, the Red Sand Dunes can get quite crowded, particularly around sunset.
