Thrills & Views: Rong May Glass Bridge at O Quy Ho Pass

Experience the breathtaking mountain scenery of Northern Vietnam from a thrilling new perspective at the Rong May Glass Bridge (Cầu Kính Rồng Mây), also known as the Rong May Glass Skywalk. This striking modern attraction is dramatically situated near the summit of the spectacular O Quy Ho Pass, one of Vietnam's highest mountain passes connecting Lai Chau and Lao Cai provinces (Sapa region). It features a transparent, glass-bottomed walkway extending daringly outwards from the cliff edge, offering visitors unparalleled and somewhat nerve-wracking views into the deep valley below.

The journey to the skywalk is part of the adventure, often involving a ride in a specially constructed, panoramic elevator system built into the mountainside, which whisks visitors up to the bridge level. Once there, stepping out onto the strong, transparent glass platform provides an incredible adrenaline rush and the sensation of walking on air, high above the rugged landscape. On clear days, the panoramic vistas of the surrounding Hoang Lien Son mountain range (including glimpses towards Fansipan) and the deep, verdant valleys are simply awe-inspiring.

The Rong May Glass Bridge represents a modern addition to the attractions near Sapa, offering a very different experience from traditional trekking or village visits (and requires a separate entrance fee). It caters specifically to those seeking thrills, unique photo opportunities, and dramatic viewpoints. Combining a visit here with exploring the stunning natural scenery and other viewpoints along the O Quy Ho Pass makes for an exciting excursion for travellers looking for both natural beauty and modern adventure in the mountains of Northern Vietnam (as of April 2025).
