Drive or Ride the Scenic O Quy Ho Pass (Heaven Gate)

Experience one of Northern Vietnam's most spectacular mountain roads by travelling along the O Quy Ho Pass, also known as Tram Ton Pass or "Heaven Gate". Connecting Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces, this pass winds dramatically through the Hoang Lien Son mountains, reaching an altitude of nearly 2,000 meters. The views along the pass are breathtaking, overlooking deep valleys and towering peaks, including Fansipan.

Whether you explore it by motorbike or car as part of a Sapa tour, stopping at various O Quy Ho Pass viewpoints is a must. The weather can change rapidly, with mist often rolling in, adding to the dramatic atmosphere. It's a challenging but incredibly rewarding drive, showcasing the raw beauty of the Northwest Vietnam mountains.
